Armie is so hawwttt! 😍. It's funny seeing all the men in the comments freaking about it being a feminist film. The exact reason why we need a feminist film. The generic pop song ruins it.

Y'all had me at Kathy Bates. Like watching paint dry. "On the Basis of Sex" is a glossy biopic of Ruth Bader Ginsberg, one of the ultra-left members of the Supreme Court. She reflexively votes left without question, including voting to murder babies in the womb. The whole Ginsberg family looks very WASPy and nothing like Semites. Felicity Jones is much too good-looking to play RBG. A better actor to play RBG would have been Ruth Buzzie.
This movie didn't make that much money because Hollywood producers would rather take a financial hit and try to shove this rubbish down the throats of Americans. Thank goodness I didn't pay to see this trash. Almost missed this one after the mixed reviews, but ended up glad I didn't. Enjoyed every moment of the film, lost and engrossed in thinking about what it must've been like to be a short-in-stature but towering in strength and determination Ginsburg during the years depicted here. I thought the film did a terrific job of putting viewers in her shoes, and definitely think it will be an inspiration for those of us who still value honest hard work, ethical behavior, kindness, and joy, for generations to come.

Although I finally watched "On the Basis of Sex" to honor the recent passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and although it surely deals with some important legal precedents, I'm not going to pretend it's not a standard, even ho-hum, biopic and legal drama. It barely rises above an extended episode of "Law & Order" and even includes Sam Waterston in the cast. Generally, Hollywood is just bad an rendering anything academic or intellectual on screen, and so, as here, they resort to merely saying over and over again that Ginsburg is smart and to complimenting her writing of briefs. They say it because they don't know how to show it. When we finally get to the courtroom part, they also resort to a trope of a eureka moment where she turns the case around after some fictitious flubbing of it by the Ginsburgs- while, of course, the level of the musical score is heightened for some manufactured inspiration.

Such movies are better at relationship and family dynamics, though. Indeed, the screenplay was written by Ginsburg's nephew. When characters aren't pigeonholed as sexist baddies or egalitarian heroes, the picture does well enough. I don't know whether Ginsburg's daughter was as instrumental in her thinking as suggested here, but as drama of the real world reflecting the legal battle it's effective, as is the family's marriage of equals. Although their involvement in the case depicted here is reportedly fictional, the inclusion of Dorothy Kenyon and Pauli Murray is a nice thought in acknowledging Ginsburg's predecessors. Felicity Jones may be miscast, but she and the rest of the cast are fine enough, I suppose, and the focus on Ginsburg's skirts and appearance otherwise in male-dominated settings works well. As most seem to agree, however, the documentary "RBG" 2018) does a better job examining this central figure in the courtroom part of the women's liberation movement and who experienced renewed status as a cultural icon in her later years.

Discrimination on the basis of sex period is/was unjust. RBG was a genius to showcase how EVERYONE loses in an unjust system. RBG fought the proper fight for both men and women to be allowed to take on all roles in greater society. RIP LEGEND! Also, Marty is the dream partner <3 RBG worked hard but she was quite blessed with a great support team. 0:32 I need boyfriend 💋💋💋💋💋💞💞💞💞. RBG is a bad ass woman! Only WEAK men always try to put down or minimize women like her.

Oh NO! A movie about a real life woman who helped make the world better oh gods no! What will our poor murderous sky daddy think of us now. Kesha and Gaga should win 10 millions Oscars. This is not a review based on politics. This is a review based on how good the film was and it was simply mediocre. Skips over a lot of information and is more character driven than anything, which is understandable as it's a film but the people calling this a "docudrama" are wrong. It's a very very very slight overview of this amazing woman's career that could have covered more and been written better. Character development was clunky and weirdly paced.
Just watch RBG instead.

A movie starting Arm and Hammer, The Unsinkable Molly Brown and a Jyn Urso who's accent constantly keeps slipping in and out. I'll watch it. On the Basis of Sex Online Putlocker. The makeup in this movie was amazing, she looks just like RBG at the end 😂😂😂😂. The color tone reminds me of mad men ahhhhh.
